The purposefully distressed exterior of this artist's book conveys the battering and bruising - both external and internal - that happens to us as we weather life's storms. The turquoise marbled paper interior has also sustained damage - it's a bit waterlogged and stained.
However, the book has protected its treasures - the gathered bits of wisdom that provide sustenance and hope n the midst of devastation. This particular treasure includes five quotes, all of which arrived during the first years of widowhood. These were bits that I clung to, during my own emotional storm.
